The System 360 Model 195 was a massive machine and the last of the 360 line to be introduced (see also 370/195). These pages are under construction. The Atlas Computer Laboratory, Chilton (1961-1975) had two Model 195's configured in a sort of cluster. For more information and pictures, see http://www.chilton-computing.org.uk/. Over the years as various laboratories joined, they became the Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (CCLRC). The remaining pictures on this page were sent to us by Bob Hopgood. Thanks! The twin 195's were configured as in the following the diagram. Here is a picture of the twin 195 consoles. Note the computers are not in this picture - these are only the operator consoles!
And finally, below is a representative sample of the technology used to manufacture the 195. From the appearance, these seem to be post-SLT (Solid Logic Technology) and may be SLD (Solid Logic Dense) or MST (Monolithic Systems Technology -- the first true integrated circuits used in mainframes).
